Easter 2012

Luke and I went to Granna and Pops for Easter while Brent stayed behind to write a midterm... we took a dip in the pool
We decorated a bunny cake quickly reassembled into a flower with jelly beans, thanks Granna!
Brent and I decided we wouldn't talk about the Easter Bunny since we really want to keep Easter about Jesus's sacrifice for our salvation- a hard concept to grasp! Our plans were thwarted when Luke's school told them all about the bunny, he saw the Easter Bunny at Walmart and was lured into free picture with him, and on top of it all, we saw a real bunny in Granna and Pop's backyard!  We still do an egg hunt, and  Easter basket, but it is from Momma and Daddy-- I am sure next year will be the year we explain more to Luke about this decision.
 We visited the outlet malls!
We ate a big fajita dinner at Melody and Justin's new house
 Had an egg hunt
Got a goodie basket from Granna
Worked out in Uncle Justin's gym
 Got hugs
Had a birthday party!
And went to church with Aunt Kay and Uncle Tommy in an outdoor Pavilion
They handed out butterflies for a release at the end of the service
Luke learned about the triumphal entry last week at Palm Sunday... we were waving palm branches all week at our house and saying "Hosanna!  Hosanna in the Highest!"  When they started singing a Hosanna song, I looked at Luke and said "Lets sing it!"  He thought it was pretty neat!
He has Risen indeed!  What a beautiful promise we get to remember on a special day every year!

20 Weeks

This pregnancy has been a breeze this far!  Here are some favorites...
Favorite foods:  watermelon, banana peppers, chicken stir fry, all fruits;  Aversions: Meat, most vegetables
Favorite Big Brother Moment: Putting Luke to bed one night, I was laying with him and sister started moving... I asked Luke if he wanted to feel his sister kick.. he happily said yes and put his hands on my belly... she kicked several times and Luke quietly whispered "Come out, come out, wherever you are".

IT'S A....

We were pretty excited to tell Luke he gets the little sister he's wanted!  We had our 18 week sonogram last week and Dr. New looked a good 5-10 minutes to try to get her to move around to "make sure".  He said he is pretty confident we are having a girl!  Brent was so sure we were having another boy, it took him a few minutes to recalculate- I can't wait to see what this little girl does to her Daddy!  Ha!  We went to lunch at Fudruckers and talked names, but as of now, we don't have one picked out yet.

The First Trimester in review:
7 weeks- had all over hives for 4 days.  Benadryl was my BFF until week 12.  Dr. thinks it was either prenatal vitamins, something I ate, or shift in hormones.
16.5 weeks- felt first flutter (more like a weak poke)
18.5 weeks- felt first movement from the outside
Nausea was over earlier than Luke with a few flare ups while driving.
Tiredness is gone, I am feeling great.

Thank you, Lord for the precious gift of entrusting us with another child.  We pray we honor you in all we say and do as we raise these little ones.
